Global Scholarship and Collaboration

MIRCS Mission Statement

The Multidisciplinary International Rectal Cancer Society (MIRCS) is established to provide a framework for global interaction and collaboration among devoted students of rectal cancer management representing diverse medical and related disciplines without restriction who are dedicated to improving the care and maximizing the quality of life for all those with or at risk of having rectal cancer. The MIRCS is committed to promoting the highest standards of contemporary rectal cancer treatment by facilitating clinical and basic science research, clinical trials, and diverse educational programs including but not limited to printed and electronic communications, workshops, consensus conferences, and open scientific meetings. Collaborative programs among MIRCS members and their respective medical institutions are recognized as a key element in the pursuit of the organization’s scientific objectives. These collective efforts will be aimed at sharing emerging scientific information for the education of multidisciplinary specialists in the rapidly changing options of personalized care for rectal cancer patients.
